Our Story
A Mother, Daughter and a Dog
Husk Home is run by mother and daughter duo Lysandra and Linda. Founded in 2019 after a cascade of tragic events. It was time to take a chance on what had always been a dream.
The iconic Husk name was inspired by Lysandra’s Siberian Husky Kodah, her best friend and biggest cheerleader for the last 11 years, helping her through some of the hardest seasons (and greatest moments) of her life. ‘Home’ was the second piece to complete the now thriving business - meaning Homestore, a place for goods, or home like Kaikoura, the pair’s hometown. Husk was born for a love of beautiful things, but also an appreciation for the beauty in handmade and talented makers in NZ. To offer something unique and ever evolving to the market.
The store is not packed to the brim with things you cannot see, it has intentionally minimal products on the shelves so you can appreciate each and every product in it’s specific place, never just filling a gap. Each product selected and loved.
Like all good things Husk Home has evolved and changed over the last 5 years. We have opened a second store location in the heart of Merivale, Christchurch. Our family lives have changed - welcoming two new babies to the Wolfpack.
We are excited to watch our journey unfold here in Christchurch with so many local supporters here. Thank you for sticking with us on this crazy ride x
